10 pack of the "ICONIC 101" Professional Short Barrel 1/4" Audio Connectors specifically designed for rack and pedalboard installs that need to conserve space (don't they all?). Note the regular wire clamp post for attaching your shield and securing the cable in place. The barrel is finished in sand nickel and even though it's small, provides a nice grip when you need to put the cable out safely. The gold tip is nice touch to guard against oxidation, especially if the plugs are just going to be inserted and left for life of the build. The fifth photo shows these compared to a standard 1/4" guitar plug. THE BUZZ These were designed from the beginning to be used with professional shielded audio cable. It features an industry standard wire clamp to insure the connection when plugging and unplugging...especially, if you don't want to use shrink wrap to maximize the amount you can bend the cable when it leaves the barrel (to save space on your board or rack, which is why we're here). In the past, the only 1" barrel option was the one from the 60s which was meant for miscellaneous telecommunications and just had two posts side by side, making them prone to shorting out. Thank goodness, the old ones existed and helped us cram as many pedals as we could on a board....but it was time for a connector specifically meant for the purpose. The 101.
